WTSMTV was born out of the COVID 19 pandemic. Two Second Media, our parent company, had been a video production company and advertising agency since 2008. When the pandemic hit, we received a tremendous amount of requests to provide live streaming services for businesses and organizations that could not meet in person. We also discovered the tremendous need that existed for local streaming content.
Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney +, and all the others, have streaming entertainment covered. YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and all the others, have cat videos and dance clips covered. But there is an exponentially larger amount of content in between those two powerhouse industries: local content.
Our CEO, Chris Weir, presented the idea of creating the “Local TV Station of the 21st Century” to our board of directors in November of 2022, and we launched WTSMTV in January of 2023. And it worked.
People Want Local Streaming Content
We learned very quickly we were on to something. In the first 10 months (Jan – Oct), we offered our service for free, and earned a little over 320,000 viewers. During that time, we had live periodic sports games, 3 daily shows, and 2 weekly shows.

However, since we started, we have only broadcasted original programming, or broadcasts that we produced, and we put a focus on live daily studio programming. By doing so, we inadvertently placed an extremely low ceiling of potential growth on the station. That also meant we also bore all of the overhead and costs associated with making those productions happen. The numbers were obvious, the station grew when our content grew, however, placing the responsibility of producing all the new content on our production team was not realistic or sustainable.
We also learned that while WTSMTV certainly made us sound more like a TV station, it wasn’t necessary to earn new viewers, and it was extremely hard to remember.
ROBAT TV moves us out of the shadow of a traditional TV station structure. We’ve always wanted to be the TV Station of the 21st century; now we are going to start acting and looking like it.
The TV Station of the 21st century isn’t restricted and limited by a daily live broadcast schedule. Viewers want to watch their content when they want to watch it. Our data has consistently shown audiences prefer regular programming to be available OnDemand, and only care about live broadcasts of events and sports games. So, that’s exactly what we are going to do.
Also, creators aren’t attracted to the traditional TV station model that we were following. It is too costly, too demanding of their time, and cause us to miss out on some of the best potential content. Creators’ only alternative is social media, where they struggle with an impossible algorithm that puts their informative and entertaining long-form content against short and silly cat videos. And neither the traditional tv model or social media provides a truly local streaming platform that connects our local communities.
ROBAT TV will be a place viewers can get the quality content they desire and deserve, when and how they want it, while providing a platform for business and individual creators to provide that content easier than ever before.
The viewer experience will resemble that of Apple TV, Hulu, or Amazon Prime, with the added ability to engage and interact with Creators like they can on various social media Channels. TV + Streaming + Social. There will be multiple subscription levels based on their viewing habits:
We will also offer bundle options with select Creators. For instance, Park University has partnered with us to broadcast all their athletics live and OnDemand on ROBAT TV. We created a “Bundle” for their viewers that includes our Ultimate level viewing experience, plus, Park University programming for $9.99 per month. We hope to sell more of these with community and private colleges in the area (as this creates a huge audience around the country and a strong revenue stream).
There are so many ways to create content and earn money on ROBAT TV, and we are committed to helping serious Creators earn serious revenue for their hard work and creativity. Advertising, Sponsorships, Pay-Per-View, ROBAT Shopping (selling their products), KUDOS (viewer tipping module), and the ROBAT Creators Guild (a tiered benefit program). There will also be multiple account levels for Creators of all sizes:

To try and offer the most flexible terms possible, we are giving our Account Executives three options. The higher the commission, the lower the equity share. The three options are as follows:
Commission: 20%
Equity Share: 1%, vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff
Commission: 12% Friday
Equity Share: 3%, vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff
Commission: 4%
Equity Share: 5%, vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff
